Brief Synopsis
An interactive teaching AIDS intend to create diverse learning scenarios, enhance engagement and ensure continuous learning experiences. By incorporating Dongba Hieroglyphics into a stage scene with moveable shadow puppey, and AR with animation and script explanation, to expand touchpoints, create a sustainable and interactive platform, promoting the richness of Dongba culture through a new lens.
“Dongba Hieroglyphic” or “Dongba script" is a unique logographic script used by the Naxi people, derived from the "Dongba scripture," their religious text and encyclopedia. It possesses both the characteristics of pictographs and logographs. In the development of written language, the Dongba script represents a stage later than pictographic writing but prior to ideographic scripts such as oracle bone inscriptions. It is hailed as the only living logographic script in the world today.
Who is the Dongba Academy?
A school was established with the objectives of inheriting the Dongba culture, nurturing high-quality talent, organizing study tours and practical experiences, and promoting the outstanding traditional culture of the Naxi people to propagate and promote Naxi ethnic culture.
What are the design requirements for the current project of Dongba Academy?
In the teaching of the Dongba script, the teaching mode is relatively singular. Rather than offering a continuous learning experience, it is primarily based on one-time experiences, making it difficult for users to maintain their interest and connection with Dongba culture over time. Therefore, at the academy, the current project aims to expand the learning scenarios, introduce new sustainable experiential products, and enable users to engage in learning, sharing, and gifting.

Customer Journey of Current Dongba Script Teaching Scenario
The electronic system consists of a controller, breadboard, servo motor, stepper motor, stepper motor driver board, and power supply. Servo motors are used to rotate the figurine, while stepper motors are used to slide it. When the switch is pressed, the shadow puppetry stage begins to perform.
